tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born on 27 February 1976 in Torrance, California. He grew up in Southern California and attended Huntington Beach High School where he was a top player on both football and basketball teams. Gonzalez continued to be a star in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He played a key role in leading the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receptions with nine and set it again. After a few months, Gonzalez played with the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez then went to the NFL Draft in 1997. Gonzalez was picked as the 13th overall choice by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez played with the Chiefs from 1997 until the year 2008. The Chiefs traded Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. In Gonzalez's second NFL season, he completed more than 59 passes per season.
